Habu Temple impressed with its pristine paintings and deeply carved hieroglyphs, offering a powerful experience without the crowds.

Awe at Habu Temple

Habu Temple was the most amazing temple we had seen thus far. It was in amazing condition: the paintings were pristine-looking. Our guide gave us amazing behind-the-scenes tour, and told us some not-so-commonly known facts about the place, and its historical purpose.

It didn't have the crushing crowds of Karnak, but was every bit as massive and powerful. I've never seen carvings like these. To prevent future pharaohs from hacking off his name and replacing it with their own, Ramesses III had the hieroglyphs carved incredibly deep; some are nearly six inches into the stone.
