Giants of the Nile
Two massive stone titans rising out of the green farmland like ghosts. The Colossi of Memnon are genuinely staggering to stand next to; at 18 meters tall, they make the surrounding tour buses look like toys.
Even though their faces have been worn away by three millennia of wind and sand, you can still see the outlines of the Pharaoh seated on his throne, his hands resting calmly on his knees as he gazes east toward the Nile. If you look closely at his legs, you can spot smaller carved figures.
