Ice Age TrailJuly 15th, 2022 to May 4th, 2025
a collection of sections hiked on the ice age trail in wisconsin
A place of kettles and moraines from mile-thick glaciers long ago in Wisconsin, this trail is an ideal option for weekend backpacking due to its proximity to Chicago.
The terrain isn't too demanding, and I don't know if I'll ever complet all sections of the 1,200 mile national scenic trail, but it's very ideal for overnight backpacking trips thanks to the reservable Adirondack-style shelters. It's not the distance on this trail that gets you; it's the constant up and down over rolling hills.
